Memphis is a character who appear in the Happy Feet franchise. He is the mate of Norma-Jean and the father of Mumble. He is also Erik's grandfather.

Personality[]

Memphis was somewhat embarrased by Mumble being different. He tried to stifle it, shushing Mumble or stopping him from dancing around others, when he can. He tried to live normal like other penguins, but eventually learned to support his son.

Appearance[]

Memphis looks like every other Emperor Penguin. He has somewhat broader shoulders, and--when dancing--can be differenciated by his Elvis Presley-like dance moves. He also sings like his Heartsong writer, with a deep voice. He waddles with confidence.

Trivia[]

When he kick Mumble (as a baby) in the water in A Happy Feet Moment, it is unrealistic because, adult emperor penguins does not kick chicks in real life.
Memphis is named after Elvis Presley, who who lived in Memphis as a teenager.
