Renesmee, nicknamed Nessie by her mother and Gale, is the main female protagonist of Happy Feet (AU) and the deuteragonist of Happy Feet Two (AU). She is a female emperor penguin who is known as one of the best female singers. She is the daughter of Memphis and Norma Jean, the wife of Gale, and the mother of Ericka. She was treated similarly to how Norma Jean was, as all of the males wanted to mate with her. Her heartsong is "Boogie Wonderland" by Earth, Wind, and Fire.
In this AU, she is the female version of Gale while Gale is the male version of Gloria.
By the sequel, she was a teacher for the chicks, and instead of her students calling her Ms. Nessie, she told them that they could call her Auntie Nessie.

Happy Feet[]
She is first seen when she and her father, Memphis come to see Maurice, whom is worried that his egg hasn’t hatched when the other penguin`s eggs have. Renesmee spots the egg, taps on it and hears a response from inside. Two feet break from the egg and as they begin to walk off down a snow bank, Renesmee playfully addresses the egg as "Mr. Gale" thus naming him when he hatches. She later appears at the school where she defended Gale when he was being mocked by the rest of the class for his inability to sing. Gale also started to fall in love with her when he complemented her singing.
At Graduation Day, she and Gale slid off the ice and landed in the same spot, where they began to make shapes in the water. Gale tries to express his feelings to her, before they spot a school of fish, he catches one, but she doesn’t. Feeling bad for her, Gale offers Renesmee his fish, but she tells him to keep it, before a skua came and stole it, prompting Gale to get it back. She truly began to notice Gale when he went through great difficulty fighting the skuas for the fish. After Gale got it back, following a pretty hard landing, Renesmee took the fish after he insisted. She thanked Gale for that, which made him feel warm inside. That night, she was the lead singer in the graduation song, while everyone wanted to mate with her, the two main contenders being Gale and Seymour. Although she didn't really show signs of minding Gale's lack of singing capabilities, at their graduation (where she sang "Somebody to Love" by Queen) when Gale was singing along, she kindly mentioned for him to stop, but despite his best efforts, Gale was unable to resist, resulting in him being kicked out of the party.
At the start of mating season, Renesmee was the center of attention, attracting dozens of male groupies, much like Norma Jean did in the beginning of the movie, who all tried to harmonize with Renesmee while she sang her heartsong, "Boogie Wonderland." At one point, she could not figure out the rest of her heartsong, eventually stopping the groupies from following her. After Gale attempted to serenade her with a Spanish version of My Way, she seemed very interested, but not completely convinced, and ended up completely devastated when she found out Ramón was the one actually singing. She returned to the groupies, with Gale insisting she sing to the rhythm of his tapping feet. Eventually, she slowly began to sing to his tapping, which she realized synced perfectly with her heartsong, which slowly coaxed her back to his side to do the mating circle with him. With Gale 'singing' Renesmee's heartsong with his feet, the rest of her heartsong came to her, and since Gale was the only penguin who helped her finish her heartsong, she knew he was the only one for her, and she chose him as her mate.
When Gale left after being exiled by the Elders to find out what happened to the fish, Renesmee decided to join him. However, presumably to prevent her from being harmed, Gale insulted her singing so she wouldn't come. While Gale was gone, she and Seymour began to teach singing to young penguins. However, Renesmee had fallen into a mild depression during Gale's absence and refused to sing a note.
When Gale returned, Renesmee and Seymour were the first to welcome his return. He assumed they had mated, until she explained that they were working together to teach the kids to sing. When Gale confirmed that aliens do exist (and soon arrive) the penguins decided to dance to explain to the aliens that they’re messing with their food chain, soon resulting in overfishing becoming illegal.
She joined into the final number, acting as one of the main vocalists. Afterwards, Gale and Renesmee mated and had a child named Ericka.
Happy Feet Two[]
The movie starts out as when Renesmee is singing, then Gale comes, when Renesmee and Gale see Ericka by herself not dancing, Renesmee says she is going to talk to her but Gale said he would. Gale teaches his daughter to try to tap dance, and Ericka almost does it when she falls into the ice. Bo says it isn't funny (just like Renesmee did) and Atticus told them that it was not funny. Ericka, Bo, and Atticus go to the hole and be by themselves. Then when Gale was going to check on them that they were gone.
Later when the Doomberg arrived blocking Emperor-Land, she was one of the trapped emperor penguins when Gale arrived with his son Ericka to see what's happening. When Ericka was in distress of the disaster, she sends Gale off to catch some more fish. Leaving Ericka with her mother along with Atticus for some motherly love. She sings a song "Bridge of Light" to calm him down.
The next morning, a huge flock of Skuas attacks Emperor Land. She tells Ericka and Atticus to take cover. When the Boss Skua tries to take and fly off with one of her class students she smacks him away and exclaims him to pick on someone his own size.

As a Chick[]
As a chick, not much distinguished her from the other chicks in Emperor-Land. She was a light grey, fuzzy, with brown eyes, and a dark grey patch on her chest.
As an Adult[]
Renesmee has a white underside with a yellow patch on her chest, like other female Emperor Penguins. The feathers on her head are black, and some feathers are colored indigo. She also has brown eyes.
In Happy Feet Two, her physical appearance is different than the first film. Her back and tail feathers are slightly brighter. As well, the yellow patch changed to gold, but her yellow color is still visible, only slightly.

Renesmee is generally soft-spoken, patient, understandable, and warmhearted. She is kind and pleasant and doesn't tolerate Gale or anyone else being teased. This is just one more similarity to Norma Jean. Renesmee almost never gets upset, and is surprisingly modest for one of the most talented singers.
